The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has unveiled plans to launch an innovative e-invoicing platform aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s tax administration system.
The e-invoicing platform, named FIRS e-Invoice, is designed to streamline invoice management, aligning with the Tax Administration and Enforcement Act of 2007.
During a recent stakeholders engagement event held in Lagos, FIRS Executive Chairman, Zacchaeus Adedeji, highlighted the importance of this initiative in modernizing Nigeria’s tax framework. He stated, “Our collective efforts will pave the way for a more prosperous and resilient Nigeria. As we advance, we encourage support for these initiatives through constructive feedback and collaboration.”
The introduction of the e-invoicing system is expected to cultivate a more robust and transparent tax environment, providing significant advantages for both businesses and the broader economy.
Adedeji reassured the business community of the agency’s commitment to fostering a friendly tax administration environment. He shared that ongoing restructuring at FIRS has yielded a one-stop shop for taxpayers, tailored to their turnover thresholds.
