After the highly anticipated cast announcement for Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four earlier this year, the film has officially received a new title. During Marvel’s Hall H presentation at Comic-Con, it was revealed that the film will now be called The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
With filming slated to begin in late July, no footage was available, but a vintage-style science reel produced by the Future Foundation was showcased. In this engaging video, Mr. Fantastic is portrayed by Pedro Pascal as he hosts a science show titled Fantastic Science. The visuals include thrilling scenes of the crew experiencing a jet engine explosion, as well as Mr. Richards and Ben Grimm, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, preparing for their journey into space.
The characters are depicted as celebrities, complete with futuristic flying cars, and the reel culminates in an intriguing appearance of a Galactus eye peering through a window. This exciting movie was initially teased in 2022, during the same Hall H presentation, where only the logo was revealed.
Voice actor Ralph Ineson will lend his voice to Galactus, while Julia Garner takes on the role of Silver Surfer. Renowned actor John Malkovich will also join the cast in a currently undisclosed role.
In addition to Pascal and Moss-Bachrach, Fantastic Four: First Steps features Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm and Joseph Quinn as her brother, Johnny.
Fans can mark their calendars for the release date, as Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
