JetBlue Airways is set to enhance its services to Barbados, with new flights launching from Boston this winter.
Starting in late October 2024, the airline will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
JetBlue will continue to offer its premium Mint service on Saturday flights throughout the winter season.
Barbados’ Minister of Tourism highlighted that this expansion reflects JetBlue’s commitment to the island and supports efforts to boost tourism growth.
The Minister expressed enthusiasm for the new service, emphasizing the importance of these flights from Boston Logan Airport in promoting tourism and economic development in Barbados.
He remarked that JetBlue is a reliable partner, and this move is a strategic effort to enhance Barbados’ long-term tourism revenue and visitor numbers.
The CEO of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. noted that the increase in flight capacity will create new commercial opportunities beyond the New England region. She pointed out that there is significant demand for travel to Barbados, with its tourism offerings attracting visitors from various locations.
These new flights will facilitate travel during the busy winter season, catering to leisure tourists and members of the Barbadian diaspora eager to participate in events like ‘We Gatherin’ 2025’.
JetBlue’s recent network strategy has focused on expanding into international markets, with service now available to over 100 destinations across the Americas, Europe, and the Caribbean.
