Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), and NRI Empowerment and Relations, Kondapalli Srinivas, has called on officials to take immediate action to enhance the living standards and livelihood opportunities of citizens.
During a review meeting, he emphasized the need to transform Self-Help Groups (SHGs) into self-sufficient production centers. Srinivas inquired about the progress made towards the targets set for the first 100 days of the new government and requested updates on results achieved thus far.
Highlighting that 55 lakh out of 90 lakh SHG members have garnered an additional income exceeding ₹1 lakh, he urged officials to ensure the remaining 35 lakh members also benefit from the Lakhpati scheme to attain similar income levels. The minister noted that 98 SHG groups are currently producing 144 different products and directed officials to work on enhancing their production capacity.
