Elon Musk unveiled the latest version of xAI’s cutting-edge artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok 3, during a live demonstration on Tuesday. This noteworthy launch showcases advancements in AI technology, emphasizing Grok 3’s enhanced reasoning capabilities and processing speed.
Accompanied by xAI co-founders, Musk detailed the improvements achieved since the release of Grok 2. He remarked, “We’re very excited to present Grok 3, which is an order of magnitude more capable than Grok 2 in a very short period of time. Our team has been dedicated to refining Grok and making it accessible to users.”
Grok 3 is now available to all Premium+ subscribers, further establishing xAI’s position in the competitive AI market. The model, tested under the codename “chocolate” on the LMSYS leaderboard, reportedly outperforms rivals including Gemini-2 Pro, DeepSeek-V3, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and GPT-4o.
What Grok 3 Can Do
The demonstration highlighted Grok 3’s ability to generate intricate code, exemplified by a request to create an animated 3D plot of a Mars launch and return to Earth. The chatbot also showcased its creative capabilities by developing a new game that combines elements of Tetris and Bejeweled, which Musk described as “the beginning of creativity.”
Furthermore, Musk announced the integration of a new “Deep Search” tool, designed to enhance everyday user queries powered by Grok. During a demonstration, the AI efficiently provided the next Starship launch date, illustrating its practical applications.
