Camille and Clément Ducol have officially claimed the Best Original Song award at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards for their powerful track "El Mal," featured in the film Emilia Pérez. The duo triumphed over a competitive lineup, including songs by prominent artists such as Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for Challengers, Miley Cyrus, Lykke Li, and Andrew Wyatt for The Last Showgirl, Maren Morris for The Wild Robot, and the collaborative effort of Robbie Williams, Freddy Wexler, and Sacha Skarbek for Better Man.
The award was presented by Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh, with Camille taking a moment to express gratitude during her acceptance speech. "This is such an American experience," she remarked with a smile. "Songs are like butterflies, and we need butterflies, even when addressing the corruption in the world. First, a heartfelt thank you to all singer-songwriters; our appreciation goes to the Golden Globes and its members; we also thank our family at Emilia Pérez."
Earlier in the ceremony, Reznor and Ross earned the Best Original Score honor for their composition in Challengers, outshining former Yuck frontman Daniel Blumberg for The Brutalist, Hans Zimmer for Dune: Part Two, Volker Bertelmann for Conclave, as well as Camille and Clément Ducol from Emilia Pérez, and Kris Bowers for The Wild Robot.
In a notable recap of the previous year, Billie Eilish and Finneas took home the 2024 Golden Globe for Best Original Song for their contribution to Barbie, while Ludwig Göransson was awarded Best Original Score for his work on Oppenheimer.
