A drone was reportedly launched towards the private residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, according to official statements. Fortunately, Netanyahu and his wife were not present at the location, and there were no reported injuries from the incident.
This event follows reports from the Israeli military that three drones were sent from Lebanon into Israeli airspace early Saturday morning, with one striking a building in Caesarea. The Israeli government has yet to clarify whether the targeted structure was part of the Prime Minister’s residence or assess the extent of any damage incurred.
At 08:19 local time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that three unmanned aerial vehicles had crossed into Israel from Lebanon. Two of the drones were intercepted, while one collided with a building in Caesarea, again with no injuries reported.
Prime Minister Netanyahu has two private residences, one in Caesarea and another in Jerusalem, in addition to Beit Aghion, the official residence currently undergoing renovations.
On the same day, the IDF reported that approximately 55 rockets were launched from Lebanon into Israel. The country is actively targeting areas in Lebanon linked to the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.
In a separate yet related development, Lebanon’s health ministry announced that two individuals were killed by an Israeli strike in Jounieh, a predominantly Christian town north of Beirut. Initial reports indicate the strike hit a moving vehicle on the main highway, marking a departure from previous Israeli operations that have primarily focused on areas with a Hezbollah presence.
