Disaster loans are now accessible for nonprofit organizations in Barry, Bollinger, Butler, Carter, Howell, Madison, McDonald, New Madrid, Oregon, Reynolds, Ripley, Scott, Shannon, Stoddard, and Texas counties. Private nonprofits are encouraged to reach out to the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency at (573) 526-9100 for detailed information on applicant briefings. These briefings require representatives to present their organization details, which FEMA will evaluate to determine if the nonprofit offers essential governmental services and qualifies as a critical facility. Eligible entities may receive Public Assistance grants to cover their expenses.
The SBA is prepared to lend up to $2 million to eligible nonprofits for the repair or replacement of damaged or destroyed property, including real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory, and other vital assets. Funds are also available for enhancements aimed at reducing the risk of future disaster damages.
Economic Injury Disaster Loans are open to nonprofits of all sizes, addressing working capital requirements affected by the disaster. These loans can cover fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other responsibilities impacted by the disaster, even if no physical property damage occurred.
The interest rate for these loans is set at 3.25 percent, with repayment terms extending up to 30 years. The application deadlines for property damage loans is September 23, 2024, while the deadline for economic injury loans is April 23, 2025. Notably, interest will not start accruing until 12 months after the initial loan disbursement, and repayment will also commence 12 months post-disbursement.
