Destroyer is set to release a highly anticipated new album titled Dan’s Boogie on March 28. This upcoming LP follows Dan Bejar’s 2022 project, Labyrinthitis. In celebration, Bejar has unveiled the lead single “Bologna,” which features vocals from Simone Schmidt. Accompanying the single is a music video directed by David Galloway, showcasing ordinary moments from daily life, including scenes like hardware stores and cityscapes. Fans can check out the video and explore the album art and tracklist below.
“I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna,’” Bejar noted. “I faced challenges while singing the first and third verses, which are crucial to the song. They needed a sense of gravity and grit. The essence of the threat of disappearing had to feel genuine, which is why I reached out to Simone.”
Currently, Bejar is on a tour, supporting renowned artist Father John Misty. For more insights, revisit the analysis of Destroyer’s previous album in an exclusive interview with Bejar.
