Deadpool & Wolverine have achieved remarkable success at the box office, grossing over $1.3 billion globally. The film is now poised to compete in various awards categories as Marvel Studios plans a robust campaign.
Deadpool & Wolverine’s Award Campaign Plans
According to reports, the popular comic book film will be submitted for consideration at the Golden Globes in comedy categories. Leading actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are also expected to be recognized in the acting and supporting acting categories, respectively.
Additionally, Deadpool & Wolverine will aim for accolades at major award events such as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice Awards, and the Oscars. For the Academy Awards, the film is also targeting technical categories, including production design, sound, and visual effects.
This isn’t the first time a Deadpool film has garnered significant award attention. The original Deadpool received two Golden Globe nominations in 2016, including Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) and Best Actor for Reynolds.
Marvel Studios is no stranger to award success, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe accumulating four Academy Awards out of 27 nominations over the years. The most recent win came from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which secured an Academy Award for Best Costume Design.
