Litecoin (LTC) is officially available in Wallet in Telegram, enabling users to buy, sell, and transfer cryptocurrency directly within the messaging platform.
On March 24, 2025, the Litecoin Foundation announced the integration of Litecoin into Telegram’s crypto wallet, expanding access to the 24th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, valued at $7.1 billion.
This new feature allows Litecoin to join other established cryptocurrencies, providing access to Telegram’s enormous user base of potentially 1 billion monthly active users.
According to the announcement, all non-U.S. users can now engage in buying and selling LTC via the non-custodial wallet, alongside other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Toncoin (TON), and Tether (USDT).
The wallet also accommodates multiple gaming tokens, further enhancing its offerings.
While non-U.S. users can trade Litecoin through the Telegram wallet, it is important to note that external transfers are not yet available, meaning users cannot send or receive LTC outside of the wallet at this time.
The addition of Litecoin comes as Telegram solidifies its presence in the crypto landscape, bolstered by the rise of tap-to-earn games and enhanced mini-app support on the TON Blockchain.
This strategic move positions Litecoin to benefit from the growing adoption of cryptocurrency.
“The integration of Litecoin into Telegram is a significant step forward in the convergence of messaging and cryptocurrency. As digital currencies continue to gain traction, platforms like Telegram are paving the way for more innovative solutions that cater to the needs of users,” stated the Litecoin Foundation.
Earlier this month, Wallet in Telegram announced plans to expand its services, allowing users to buy and trade hundreds of cryptocurrencies, including popular meme coins and other digital tokens.
Moreover, users holding TON and USDT will have opportunities to earn passive rewards by holding their assets within the wallet.
To encourage adoption, Telegram is offering free Litecoin purchases for the next seven days, eliminating transaction fees for users wishing to explore Litecoin through the wallet app.
