Project 2025 is a comprehensive 900-plus page agenda designed for a conservative presidency, first introduced in spring 2023, prior to Donald Trump’s Republican nomination. This bold plan presents a variety of conservative measures, including a prohibition on the mailing of abortion pills and proposals for the elimination of the Department of Education. It even entertains the controversial idea of reinstating the gold standard.
The project swiftly became a focal point for Democratic criticism, prompting Trump to publicly distance himself from its contents and its creators. However, with Trump now in office and presenting his own detailed policy outlines, many of these recent proposals echo those found in Project 2025. Notably, one of the main architects of this initiative is now leading the crucial Office of Management and Budget.
Despite previously rejecting Project 2025 during his campaign, Trump’s administration appears to be drawing extensively from its framework as a strategic playbook.
