Popular fuji singer Shina Akanni has addressed concerns regarding conflicts among artists in the genre, reassuring fans that such disputes do not jeopardize its future.
In a recent interview, Akanni stated, “Conflicts have been a part of fuji music since its inception. They are starting to diminish. Disagreements occur in every area of life, including the marketplace. Regardless of how wisely one approaches a situation, conflicts will still arise. These rivalries often serve as a form of competition, adding excitement to the craft.”
Known as Scorpido, the artist emphasized the importance of older musicians exercising caution in their interactions with younger talents, as the latter are often resistant to advice. “Younger artists typically resist guidance. Often, they choose to follow their own instincts. While seasoned artists rely on learned wisdom, today’s musicians frequently dismiss traditional methods as ‘old school,’ even when such practices remain relevant.”
Akanni also revealed he is diligently rehearsing for his upcoming album, highlighting a trend where many young artists overlook essential preparation before launching new projects. Reflecting on the success of his previous album, ‘Anybody Can Dance (ABCD),’ he expressed satisfaction with its reception among fans and its performance on various platforms.
Contrary to the perception that fuji music is trivial, Scorpido asserted, “Fuji music is a serious profession that opens doors to international opportunities. I approach it with utmost seriousness and respect for time.”
