Cold weather persists across Punjab and Haryana, with Faridkot designated as the coldest location, registering a minimum temperature of 0 degrees Celsius on December 17, 2024, according to meteorological officials.
Severe cold has engulfed Faridkot for several days, establishing it as the coldest area in Punjab.
The Meteorological Department’s latest report indicated that Amritsar experienced a low of 2.6 degrees, whereas both Ludhiana and Patiala recorded minimums of 4.8 degrees Celsius.
Pathankot also felt the biting cold, with temperatures dropping to 2.8 degrees. Bathinda and Gurdaspur recorded lows of 3 and 3.5 degrees, respectively.
Chandigarh, serving as the capital for both states, noted a low of 6.6 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Hisar recorded the lowest temperature at 1.6 degrees Celsius, while Sirsa faced severe cold with a low of 2.6 degrees Celsius.
Karnal had a cold night at 4.6 degrees, and temperatures in Rohtak and Bhiwani were noted at 5.6 and 5.7 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Gurugram, Kurukshetra, and Ambala experienced chilly conditions, with temperatures of 6.2, 6.7, and 7.4 degrees Celsius.
