Cloud Engineers are leading the way in artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in 2025, according to a recent study. The report assessed AI engagement across various professions by analyzing metrics such as Google search volume, professional AI usage rates, and the availability of AI-related courses. Cloud Engineers achieved a perfect AI usage score of 100.
With 32 million monthly Google searches for AI tools, Cloud Engineers topped the rankings for search interest. The study revealed that 70% of these professionals actively utilize AI tools, supported by access to 27 specialized AI courses. This significant engagement demonstrates a strong integration of AI within the cloud engineering field.
Following closely behind, Software Engineers boasted a 97% AI usage rate and had 53 dedicated courses available. Although they recorded only 3.3 million monthly searches, their overall AI usage score reached 99.
Data Scientists ranked third, with 76% employing AI tools and access to 52 courses. Their monthly search volume stood at 403,000, contributing to a final AI usage score of 82.
Customer Support Specialists secured the fourth position with 29 million Google searches—the second-highest in the study—and a 74% usage rate of AI tools. Despite having only two courses available on the analyzed educational platform, their strong search interest and usage resulted in an AI usage score of 80.
Social Media Managers claimed the fifth spot, with 82% of professionals using AI daily and over 9 million monthly searches. Their engagement with AI for digital enhancement, along with access to 22 relevant courses, led to a usage score of 74.
Marketing Specialists followed in sixth place, exhibiting an 80% AI usage rate and generating 700,000 searches each month. With 18 tailored courses available, they received a usage score of 59.
Graphic Designers ranked seventh with 3 million monthly searches and an AI usage rate of 83%. However, limited access to just two AI-focused courses resulted in a lower usage score of 52.
Copywriters and Content Writers demonstrated an 85% usage rate and recorded 1.1 million monthly searches for AI tools. Despite similar limited course access as Graphic Designers, their AI usage score was calculated at 50.
Financial Analysts and Cybersecurity Analysts were among the lowest in terms of AI adoption. Financial Analysts reported a 58% usage rate, supported by 12 available courses, resulting in a usage score of 42. Cybersecurity Analysts ranked last, with a 64% usage rate, the lowest search interest at 141,000 monthly searches, and only seven courses accessible. Their AI usage score was 41.
The findings indicate a clear divide in AI integration, with professions like Cloud Engineering and Software Development already harnessing its full potential while others begin to adopt these technologies. The high search volume from Customer Support and significant AI adoption among Copywriters highlights a transformative shift across various industries. Professionals are encouraged to master AI tools to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving job market where technological proficiency is essential for career advancement.
