Manipur’s Chief Minister N Biren Singh has resigned following a significant meeting with BJP leadership in Delhi on Sunday. This decision comes nearly two years after the onset of ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities in the state.
In a move that has stirred political speculation, N Biren Singh traveled to Delhi on Saturday evening amid rumors of a potential no-confidence motion from the opposition ahead of the upcoming Assembly session in the state. On Wednesday, Singh, accompanied by seven MLAs, visited Delhi to meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. However, after attending Kumbh Yatra, they returned to Imphal without having met him.
