Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has ordered the Municipal Administration department to install CCTV cameras around lakes and tanks situated within the outer ring road to safeguard these areas from encroachments.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to preserving water bodies under the jurisdiction of the outer ring road (ORR). Chief Minister Reddy emphasized the importance of taking appropriate measures to deter any encroachments on these vital resources. His directives hold added significance in light of the recent demolition efforts spearheaded by the local disaster response agency.
During a review meeting focused on the Musi Riverfront Development and Metro Rail project with senior officials, Chief Minister Reddy requested a comprehensive enumeration of individuals residing within the full tank level (FTL) and buffer zones of affected lakes and tanks, where encroachments have escalated.
Moreover, officials were instructed to gather information regarding residents, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, living within the Musi riverbed area. Reddy assured that eligible families would receive alternative housing solutions, such as double-bedroom homes, or be considered for other rehabilitation options to ensure their confidence and security amid development efforts.
