Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud urged faith in divine intervention regarding the long-standing Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute during a recent event in his hometown, Kanhersar village, on October 20, 2024. Addressing local residents, he expressed the importance of seeking resolutions through prayer and belief, stating that God will provide solutions for those who have faith.
Reflecting on his experience with the Ayodhya case, which he presided over for three months, CJI Chandrachud recounted praying for a resolution, highlighting a personal commitment to regular prayer. “Believe me, if you have faith, God will always find a way,” he affirmed.
The Ayodhya dispute reached a significant conclusion on November 9, 2019, when a Supreme Court bench, led by then CJI Ranjan Gogoi, ruled in favor of the construction of the Ram temple while allocating an alternative five-acre site for a mosque in Ayodhya. CJI Chandrachud, who was part of this historic bench, emphasized the importance of this decision in settling a complex issue that spanned over a century.
This past July, CJI Chandrachud visited the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to offer his prayers, following the temple’s idol consecration event on January 22, attended by prominent leaders including the Prime Minister.
