In response to recent flooding in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced that food will be provided free of charge at Amma Canteens on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, and Thursday, October 17, 2024.
The initiative aims to support residents in the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) zones and other affected areas, as stated in a social media update.
Chief Minister Stalin also highlighted that relief operations are currently underway, particularly for those living in low-lying districts. He confirmed that individuals displaced from their homes are being accommodated in relief camps, where they receive essential food and assistance from the Chennai Corporation.
As recovery efforts progress, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free meals being offered during this critical time.
