Shivamogga, India – The Shivamogga Bhadravati Urban Development Authority (SUDA) is set to finalize a comprehensive master plan for the urban areas of Shivamogga and Bhadravati, anticipating significant population growth by 2041. Authority Chairman H.S. Sundaresh announced this development during a press conference on Friday.
Initially, the authority had aimed to create a master plan based on projected population growth by 2031. However, following a thorough review, SUDA has shifted its focus to project urban development to accommodate an estimated population of 1.5 million by 2041.
Sundaresh emphasized that the agency responsible for drafting the master plan will prioritize the enhancement of infrastructure and essential services, including the development of roads, new residential layouts, parks, hospitals, and educational institutions to meet the demands of the growing populace.
In terms of residential development, more than 8,000 applications for sites at Urugadur have been received. The authority plans to allocate these sites in accordance with established regulations, ensuring that applicants who applied earlier receive preferential treatment based on seniority.
Additionally, SUDA will develop apartment complexes in the J.H. Patel Layout and Urugadur areas. A new layout is also in the works for Sogane, with plans to engage with local land cultivators to negotiate compensation and facilitate the development of the layout.
This announcement comes as part of SUDA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing urban living conditions and accommodating future growth in the region.
