ECNETNews reports that Ambev has announced that Carlos Lisboa will take over as the company’s president starting in early next year, succeeding Jean Jereissati, according to a market statement released on Tuesday (27).
Lisboa currently leads the Middle Americas Zone at AB InBev, Ambev’s parent company, and serves on the board of the Brazilian brewery. Meanwhile, Jereissati has been the chief executive of Ambev since 2019 and will assume Lisbon’s previous role in the MAZ, according to the company.
During his tenure, Jereissati emphasized investments in app-based sales and focused on expanding premium brand offerings. Carlos Lisboa brings a wealth of experience, having held various leadership positions in sales and marketing within both Ambev and AB InBev since 1993.
Lisboa served as Ambev’s vice president of marketing from 2005 to 2011, led Canadian brewery Labatt from 2013 to 2014, held the role of global brands vice president at AB InBev from 2014 to 2016, and presided over the South Latin America region of Ambev from 2016 to 2018 before becoming president of the Middle Americas Zone in January 2019.
Earlier this month, Jereissati mentioned during a conference about Ambev’s second-quarter results that sales performance in June and July showed signs of recovery, indicating a turnaround after a significant decline in sales volumes in the country during that period.
