Dan Snaith is set to make his highly anticipated return on October 4 with the release of Honey, marking his first Caribou album since 2020’s Suddenly. The forthcoming album, distributed by Merge, features recent singles including “Volume,” “Honey,” and “Broke My Heart,” along with a brand-new track titled “Come Find Me.” Accompanying the release is a video showcasing a dancer sporting an oversized Dan Snaith mask, amusingly captivating crowds across London, including Snaith himself.
In remarks about the new single, Snaith expressed his artistic vision, stating, “I love this kind of chord sequence and the sort of French touch vibe, but it took a lot of time to find the right vocal hook and breakdown to make it more pop and concise. When I play that one in DJ sets, the crowd is always emotionally charged and euphoric, which tells me that the track has come together in the right way.”
Reflecting on the album’s creation, Snaith shared his unwavering passion for music production, saying, “I still have that manic curiosity of exploring what I can create out of sound. Working in my basement studio, though I have more equipment now, the thrill remains the same. It’s exhilarating to start with nothing and occasionally finish the day with something that didn’t exist before. It feels like a kind of alchemy.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Honey, as Dan Snaith continues to captivate audiences with his innovative sound.
