ASHBURN, Va. — A burglary occurred over the weekend at a campaign office for former President Donald Trump, prompting an ongoing investigation by local authorities into potential theft.
The incident took place on Sunday at the Ashburn office, which functions as the headquarters for the Trump for President 2024 campaign and the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee, as confirmed by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement was alerted to the break-in around 9 p.m. on Sunday evening. The sheriff’s office reported that surveillance footage captured an individual dressed in dark clothing, wearing a dark cap, and carrying a backpack. The investigation is currently underway to determine the motives and specifics of the break-in.
Sheriff Mike Chapman commented, “It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into. We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and ascertain what may have been taken, as well as what may have been left behind.”
At this time, the Trump campaign and the 10th District Republican Committee have not provided any response regarding the incident.
