Former President Muhammadu Buhari has emphasized the strong bond between him and President Bola Tinubu during a recent phone call celebrating Tinubu’s birthday.
In the conversation held on Friday, Buhari extended heartfelt wishes to Tinubu, his family, and the nation, praying for long life, good health, and a successful administration under Tinubu’s leadership.
Buhari stated, “When we pray for our leaders, we are praying for ourselves and the nation,” reiterating the importance of collective support for leadership. He expressed gratitude for Tinubu and other party leaders’ contributions to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which enabled him to serve two terms as president after earlier setbacks, and highlighted their role in ushering in another APC administration with Tinubu at the forefront.
He reflected on Tinubu’s significant impact on the nation, acknowledging his various roles as an entrepreneur, party stalwart, and advocate for democracy. “The history of our country would be incomplete without recognizing President Tinubu’s numerous contributions. I take pride in my association with the Asiwaju,” Buhari remarked.
Buhari also praised the citizens’ mandate given to the APC in 2015, underscoring its importance in creating opportunities for a brighter future for all Nigerians. “It was a victory for everyone who desires the nation’s progress,” he noted.
Additionally, he wished Tinubu, his family, and the entire nation a successful conclusion to the Ramadan fast and a joyous Eid celebration.
