Canadian indie-rock band Broken Social Scene has officially unveiled their new documentary titled It’s All Gonna Break, directed by Stephen Chung. The film, named after the closing track of their self-titled album, highlights the formative years of the band and chronicles the making of their first three albums: 2001’s Feel Good Lost, 2002’s You Forgot It in People, and 2005’s Broken Social Scene. The highly anticipated premiere is scheduled for October 16 during the Woodstock Film Festival.
It’s All Gonna Break will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, personal archival clips, live concert recordings, and interviews with members of the expansive band lineup, which includes notable artists such as Feist, Emily Haines, and Amy Millan. Chung initially proposed the concept for the documentary back in 2007, but the band previously declined to move forward after viewing the rough cut.
The band last released a full-length album, Hug of Thunder, in 2017, followed by two EPs titled Let’s Try the After in 2019, and the compilation Old Dead Young: B-Sides & Rarities in 2022.
Stay tuned for more updates on Broken Social Scene and the upcoming documentary.
