U.S. Secret Service agents engaged after spotting an individual armed with a gun near Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club in Florida, where he was playing golf. No injuries resulting from the encounter have been reported. The suspect fled the scene in an SUV but was later apprehended by local law enforcement.
The motivation behind the gunfire remains unclear, with the Secret Service conducting an investigation into the incident that took place shortly before 2 p.m. They confirmed, “The former president is safe.”
This incident follows a previous assassination attempt on Trump two months ago, where he sustained a graze wound to his ear from a bullet during a rally in Pennsylvania.
In a statement, law enforcement officials revealed that a suspect connected to the shooting was subdued without a weapon during the arrest on northbound Interstate 95. The suspect displayed a calm demeanor and did not question his stop by the police.
