ECNETNews, September 19, 2024: Moses “Shyne” Barrow, the Leader of the Opposition in Belize and former Bad Boy rapper, has publicly denied any knowledge of or involvement in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ alleged “freak-off” parties. Barrow addressed the matter at a recent press conference, following Combs’ arrest in New York City on September 16th.
Reflecting on his past with Combs, Barrow criticized the music mogul, claiming he “destroyed” his life. “At 18, I just wanted to make my mother proud and highlight Belize. I defended him, only for him to betray me and testify against me in court, which resulted in my imprisonment,” Barrow stated, although he did not offer specific details to substantiate the claim.
Barrow’s remarks allude to his 1999 conviction for a nightclub shooting in New York that left three individuals injured. Although Barrow received a ten-year prison sentence, Combs was acquitted of all charges and maintained his innocence, declaring at the time, “I do not own or carry a gun.”
After his release from prison in 2009 and subsequent deportation to Belize, Barrow has shifted his focus towards a political career.
Barrow clarified that his relationship with Combs was never personal, stating, “We never vacationed together or shared a close bond. He ruined my life, but I forgave him and moved on. My goal has always been to invest in Belize’s education system, knowing he had the resources to help,” Barrow explained.
When pressed by a reporter about his awareness of or participation in Combs’ alleged “freak-off” events, Barrow firmly denied any involvement. “I had nothing to do with Sean Combs’ personal life; our interactions were purely professional,” he insisted.
Combs currently faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and additional offenses linked to the alleged incidents. According to federal indictment documents, victims reportedly faced coercion into participating in these events through drug use, with some occurrences allegedly captured on camera without consent.
Combs has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody at the Brooklyn Detention Center as he awaits trial.
