Beirut, the acclaimed orchestral pop project, has unveiled plans for a new album titled A Study of Losses, set to release on April 18. This 18-track collection draws inspiration from Judith Schalansky’s German novel Verzeichnis einiger Verluste and was created specifically for an acrobatic stage show by Swedish circus Kompani Giraff. The album includes the previously released single “Caspian Tiger” and introduces the new track “Guericke’s Unicorn,” which is available now, accompanied by a visually stunning music video featuring innovative choreography and puppeteering.
As anticipation builds for A Study of Losses, it’s notable that Beirut’s last album, Hadsel, was released just a few months ago in November 2023. This forthcoming project promises to blend intricate musical arrangements with profound thematic explorations.
Stay tuned for further updates and insights into this exciting new release from Beirut.
