The Bauchi State Government has proposed a supplementary budget of N94.676 billion for approval by the State House of Assembly.
The budget request was read during Tuesday’s session by the Deputy Majority Leader, who outlined the necessity for the funding to expedite priority projects aimed at enhancing the welfare of residents in Bauchi state.
The government aims to accelerate infrastructural development, human capital growth, and advancements in the health and education sectors, reflecting the administration’s commitment to improving living conditions within the state.
Additionally, the House has initiated the formation of a Food Security and Nutrition Committee tasked with tackling hunger and malnutrition among the population.
The committee, as explained by the Majority Leader, will concentrate on boosting the nutritional well-being of Bauchi’s most vulnerable groups, including women, children, and internally displaced persons. Its responsibilities will include the execution of food and nutrition initiatives coordinated by the State Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning, and Multilateral Coordination, in accordance with national strategic plans for food and nutrition.
