Eminem Makes a Splash at Detroit Rally, Urges Voter Participation Ahead of 2024 Elections
Eminem joined the Democratic campaign trail on October 22, introducing former President Barack Obama at a rally for Kamala Harris in Detroit. Known for his outspoken views, Eminem took the stage—accompanied by his 2010 hit “Not Afraid”—to encourage the audience about the importance of voting. “Detroit and the whole state of Michigan mean a lot to me. It’s important to use your voice, so I’m encouraging everybody to get out and vote,” he declared to the enthusiastic crowd.
Former President Obama, brought to the stage by the rapper, humorously noted his nerves following Eminem’s high-energy address. He then treated attendees to an impromptu performance of “Lose Yourself,” eliciting roaring applause.
This rally precedes the upcoming When We Vote We Win series, set to be headlined by Bruce Springsteen, kicking off in Atlanta on October 24, followed by an event in Philadelphia on October 28.
As the critical date for the 2024 U.S. elections approaches on November 5, citizens are reminded to engage and make their voting plans.
