Samsung has launched its first-ever 1TB microSD card models, the Pro Plus and Evo Select, catering to users seeking to enhance their storage for devices like smartphones, Steam Decks, and Nintendo Switches. The new 1TB Evo Select model is currently available for a promotional price of $90, down from $100, though it may be temporarily out of stock. In contrast, the 1TB Pro Plus is readily available for $120.
These high-performance microSD cards boast U3 ratings, enabling them to handle 4K video with impressive read and write speeds. The Pro Plus model features a maximum write speed of 180MB/s, while the Evo Select offers speeds up to 160MB/s.
The Evo Select provides excellent value, outperforming the popular 1TB SanDisk Ultra at a similar price point. While the Pro Plus is slightly more expensive than its counterparts, including the discounted 1TB SanDisk Extreme, which offers a maximum speed of 190MB/s for $92.60, it remains a top choice for users seeking quality.
In addition to the new releases, Samsung has also discounted its 512GB microSD cards. The Pro Plus version now retails for $45, down from $75, offering significant savings, while the Evo Select has been reduced to $40 from $56.
As the market evolves, Samsung is joining other manufacturers in offering 1TB microSD cards, yet it’s essential for consumers to explore multiple options available at diverse price points, particularly for compatibility with the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch.
