ECNETNews reports that the highly anticipated trailer for Apartment 7A, a prequel to the iconic horror film Rosemary’s Baby, has finally been unveiled. Starring Golden Globe winner Julia Garner, the film shines a spotlight on the character Terry Gionoffrio, originally introduced in the 1968 classic.
This prequel reintroduces Terry as a recovering addict whom the film’s protagonist, Rosemary Woodhouse, encounters in a basement laundry room. Tragically, Terry’s fate takes a dark turn when Rosemary later discovers her lifeless body, believed to be the result of suicide from their seventh-floor apartment.
What’s in the Apartment 7A Trailer?
The trailer opens with Garner’s portrayal of Terry, an aspiring stage performer who relocates to New York City, only to have her dreams shattered by a debilitating injury. In search of a fresh start, she moves into a mysterious apartment owned by the Castevets, soon realizing that the seemingly harmless elderly couple harbors sinister secrets about their previous tenant. The official synopsis hints that Apartment 7A will delve into the chilling events that transpired in the apartment prior to Rosemary’s arrival.
While Terry’s role in the original film was brief, audiences will now have the opportunity to witness the harrowing events leading up to her demise when Apartment 7A premieres on September 27.
Featuring an R rating for “some violent content and drug use,” the film also stars Dianne Wiest as Minnie Castevet, Kevin McNally as Roman Castevet, along with Amy Leeson, Scott Hume, Jim Sturgess, Marli Siu, Rosy McEwen, Andrew Buchan, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith.
With production led by notable figures including John Krasinski and Michael Bay, Apartment 7A is set to make its debut on September 27.
