Andrew Garfield expressed his enthusiasm for reprising the role of Spider-Man during a recent interview, revealing that he would be eager to don the iconic suit once again.
In a recent cover story, Garfield stated he would “100%” return to the beloved character, emphasizing his deep affection for Spider-Man and the joy it brings to fans.
Andrew Garfield’s Thoughts on Spider-Man
“For sure, I would 100 percent come back if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting that you can sink your teeth into,” Garfield noted. “I love that character, and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I’m joyful in return.”
His portrayal in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” provided a sense of redemption after the more divisive reactions to his earlier work in Sony Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man franchise.
In the wake of “No Way Home’s” success, speculation has flourished regarding Garfield and Tobey Maguire potentially reprising their Spider-Man roles in future films. A fourth Spider-Man installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently in development, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, though it remains uncertain if Garfield or Maguire will make a return.
Looking ahead, Garfield is set to star in the 2024 film “We Live in Time,” alongside Florence Pugh, which is slated for a January 1, 2025 release. He also has upcoming roles in Luca Guadagnino’s “After the Hunt” and the family film “The Magic Faraway Tree.”
