ECNETNews reports that musician Andrew Bird and his collaborator Madison Cunningham have unveiled their upcoming album, Cunningham Bird. This album features complete renditions of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks’ iconic 1973 release, Buckingham Nicks. Preview their fresh interpretations of “Crying in the Night” and “Crystal” now.
Set to release on October 18, Cunningham Bird is produced by Mike Viola, who also contributes Wurlitzer, bass, and drums. Griffin Goldsmith joins the team, bringing his drumming and percussion expertise to the project.
Andrew Bird expressed his fascination with the original album’s significance, stating, “Buckingham Nicks’ 1973 debut is often seen as a prequel to Fleetwood Mac’s storied legacy. This album remains elusive, being out of print and unavailable on streaming services, yet its ambitious spirit is captivating. Covering such a classic allows us the chance to explore our take on it, embodying the confidence to reinterpret this underrated masterpiece. Madison is an exceptionally talented musician with an incredible ear for innovation and emotion, and this project became a perfect opportunity for us to dive deep together.”

Bird and Cunningham have previously teamed up on various projects, including Bird’s albums My Finest Work Yet and Inside Problems. Cunningham’s latest studio album, Revealer, released in September 2022, earned her a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album.
