MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) in Pune has achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully launching its inaugural space payload, STeRG-P1.0. This significant accomplishment underscores the university’s commitment to advancing India’s space exploration initiatives.
Launched aboard the PSLV-C60, the STeRG-P1.0 payload showcases the innovative capability of MIT-WPU’s students, who independently developed the system without relying on pre-made circuits. This endeavor was driven by the talented students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, demonstrating the university’s focus on fostering indigenous solutions in technology.
In celebration of this achievement, MIT-WPU’s Dean of Research and Development highlighted the payload’s importance: “The successful testing of COTS-based avionics on PSLV-C60 reflects our team’s ingenuity and dedication. It is a testament to the remarkable potential of our young talent in enhancing space technology and signifies a proud moment for our institution.”
