Manchester United’s Amad Diallo Faces Potential Season-End Injury Blow
Manchester United’s forward, Amad Diallo, could be out for the remainder of the season due to ankle ligament damage, as reported on Saturday. The injury is believed to have occurred during training, with the club pending further tests to ascertain the severity.
Diallo, who has been a standout player for United amidst a challenging season, has scored six goals in his last 14 appearances across all competitions. His absence would be a significant setback for manager Ruben Amorim, especially after the player netted vital goals against rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.
In addition to Diallo’s injury, United is grappling with multiple player injuries as Amorim indicated prior to the upcoming match against Tottenham. Midfielders Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Toby Collyer have also reportedly sustained injuries. Compounding the team’s troubles, Lisandro Martinez recently suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament injury, and Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans, Mason Mount, and Altay Bayindir are expected to remain sidelined.
To address the growing injury list, the club has promoted academy players, including 17-year-old Chido Obi, to first-team training sessions.
Currently, Manchester United finds itself in 13th place in the Premier League standings, just two points ahead of Tottenham, who are set to face off against them in the upcoming match.
