Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has raised concerns over the reported death toll from the recent stampede at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, claiming that the BJP’s double-engine government is concealing the true number of casualties. While the government officially stated that 30 people died and 60 were injured in the incident, the Opposition contends that the actual figures are significantly higher.
Akhilesh Yadav demanded accountability, stating, “While the government continues to release budget figures, they must also disclose the number of fatalities from the Maha Kumbh. I urge that an all-party meeting be convened to clarify the arrangements made for the event.”
