Nigeria’s Air Peace Airlines Diverts Flight to Manchester Due to Adverse Weather Conditions
Air Peace Airlines has announced the diversion of its London-Gatwick flight to Manchester, citing weather-related concerns. The flight P47578 took off from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 11:59 PM on October 17, but faced delays and a subsequent diversion.
The airline indicated that the initial departure from Lagos was delayed until 2:00 AM due to forecasts of poor weather conditions at London Gatwick. A statement from Air Peace highlighted that this decision was made in line with established safety protocols after evaluating expected visibility improvements.
Minutes into arrival in London, the weather worsened, falling below the minimum requirements, leading to the flight’s diversion to Manchester Airport to ensure the safety of all onboard.
Air Peace confirmed that the flight has since departed Manchester and successfully arrived at Gatwick Airport. The airline expressed its sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to passengers, reaffirming that the safety and well-being of both passengers and crew is their utmost priority.
The airline appreciated the understanding and cooperation of travelers throughout this event and thanked its customers for their patience and continued trust in Air Peace.
