The Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA), the tribal wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has called on tribal communities in Jharkhand to unite against alleged Bangladeshi migrants accused of engaging in ‘Love Jihad’ targeting local girls.
During the conclusion of a three-day meeting in Samalkha, Haryana, the right-wing organization issued a warning regarding the rapid religious conversions occurring in the northeastern states.
Rajkishore Hansda, an ABVKA representative from the Santhal Paragana region, addressed an audience of over 2,000 attendees from India and Nepal, highlighting the increasing incidents of “Love Jihad” and “Land Jihad,” terms used by right-wing factions to describe land sales to individuals of other religions.
“Muslims from Bangladesh are marrying into the Santhal tribe and subsequently claiming ownership of their lands. We must wage a Mahabharat to protect our sisters, daughters, forests, and lands, as well as our faith,” he stated.
Thumbai Zeliang from Nagaland raised concerns about the conversion of tribals to Christianity, claiming that ABVKA is assisting them in returning to their original faith. “Those who have converted are attempting to label local people as outsiders,” he remarked.
Ramnath Kashyap from Chhattisgarh addressed the influence of Maoism in the Bastar region, stating that the fundamental rights of the tribal community are being compromised.
ABVKA’s national president, Satyendra Singh, urged tribal communities across India to remain vigilant against divisive forces that seek to separate them from ‘Hindu’ society. “Our roots are in the forests. Tribal people are the backbone of ‘Sanatani’ society, contributing significantly to the creation of the ancient Vedas,” he emphasized.
Singh further asserted that the British colonialists had orchestrated a conspiracy to divide tribal people from Hindus by distorting history and educational materials.
The meeting was also attended by the RSS chief, who encouraged ABVKA volunteers to actively promote tribal upliftment in their regions. Currently, ABVKA is overseeing over 22,152 initiatives in education, health, village development, and self-reliance across India.
