Adam Azim is bravely confronting his fears, tackling challenges such as sharks, heights, and even the discipline of quiet reading.
However, facing Sergey Lipinets, a formidable former world champion and seasoned fighter, is not among them. Azim is set to face Lipinets tonight at Wembley Arena.
“I have no fear of Lipinets. I respect all my opponents, but once I step into the ring, my focus is absolute,” Azim stated in a recent interview.
Azim is a man of action, actively working to enhance his communication skills. His strategy includes reading to improve his English, starting with the Harry Potter series.
“Reading takes concentration, which is challenging for me. With my ADHD, sitting still is tough. I may read a few pages and then get distracted by my phone,” Azim explained.
“I’d rather face a fight than sit down with a book. Sometimes, reading feels just as stressful.”
Acknowledging the need for personal growth, he remarked, “I have to step out of my comfort zone to become a better person.”
Azim intends to keep pushing his limits. “I enjoy doing scary things,” he shared, recalling his skydiving experience despite his fear of heights. “It was on my bucket list, and I’m considering other adventures like scuba diving, though I dread sharks.”
Performing under bright lights in front of thousands of fans and facing a highly experienced opponent doesn’t faze him, though. “It’s going to be a stellar fight. Lipinets is a former world champion and brings relentless pressure,” Azim remarked.
“I appreciate fighters who come forward, and I have been training intensively for this bout. I know he will bring his best, but I am ready for the challenge,” added Azim, expressing confidence in the upcoming showdown.
Lipinets, on the other hand, issued a clear warning: “He’s in the way of my belt. At only 22, Azim hasn’t fought at a level like mine.” He added, “Many champions have avoided me because facing me is a big step.”
Azim, however, believes he is prepared to prove his worth. “With every fight, I continuously improve. This is my moment to showcase my skill and solidify my status as a world champion in waiting.”
He aims to leverage this matchup to demonstrate his readiness for the elite level of boxing.
“I want to outperform ‘Boots’ [Ennis]. His speed was key in his victory over Lipinets, and I possess that same speed. I hope to finish him quicker than six rounds,” Azim declared.
Post-fight, Azim looks forward to relaxing with his newly adopted pet goat. “I haven’t seen him lately; he’s been on the farm getting bigger,” Azim said with a smile.
“He used to run away from me, but now he’s settling down. I hope to take him for a walk soon.”
He humorously noted, “I want to be the GOAT, so I had to get a goat!”
