In a surprising revelation, a recent leak has disclosed that actor Bradley Cooper will portray Jor-El in the anticipated Superman film directed by James Gunn.
Bradley Cooper Cast as Jor-El in Superman
Insider reports suggest that Bradley Cooper will be making a brief appearance as Jor-El in the film, likely appearing “in the first couple of minutes.” This early reveal is characterized as a minor cameo, indicating that it may not be pivotal to the film’s plot.
Cooper and Gunn have a history of collaboration, with Cooper famously voicing Rocket Raccoon in Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, details regarding Cooper’s involvement in the new DC Universe remain unclear.
The official synopsis of Superman describes the narrative as “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas.” The film promises to exemplify themes of truth, justice, and kindness in a contemporary world.
Joining David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, the film also features a diverse cast, including Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, among others.
This film is set to launch the DC Universe’s first phase, dubbed Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, which began with Creature Commandos in late 2024. Superman will kick off a new era under James Gunn, which aims to encompass various films and television shows. Upcoming projects include The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl film titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and an animated feature called Dynamic Duo.
