Legendary ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus officially tied the knot with his partner Christina Sas during a beautiful ceremony held in Copenhagen, hosted by renowned comedian and broadcaster Sandi Toksvig.
The 79-year-old Swedish icon, known for his extensive work with ABBA, first encountered Sas in Nuremberg, Germany, in 2021 while promoting ABBA’s latest album, *Voyage*.
In a recent announcement, Ulvaeus shared the news of their marriage, stating: “Today, on the 21st of September 2024, I married Christina Sas from Herning, Denmark.” The couple began dating in the spring of 2022.
The intimate wedding was attended by close friends and family, celebrating their love and commitment.
Ulvaeus commemorated the occasion by posting several photos, one featuring Toksvig in elegant red robes, standing beside him in a sharp suit, while Sas dazzled in a green wrap dress.
TV presenter Gyles Brandreth expressed his delight in meeting Ulvaeus and Sas, highlighting the ceremony’s emotional depth and Toksvig’s significant role in officiating the wedding.
Toksvig has shared a long-time friendship with Ulvaeus since they collaborated on *Mamma Mia: The Party!* in 2018, adding another layer of joy to the special day.
As a pivotal member of ABBA, Ulvaeus contributed to the group’s remarkable legacy, which recently celebrated its 50-year anniversary since winning the Eurovision Song Contest with their iconic hit “Waterloo.” The band’s lineup included both Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog, alongside Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.
Ulvaeus previously married fellow ABBA member Fältskog in 1971, and together they had two children before their divorce in 1980. Similarly, Andersson and Lyngstad parted ways a year before the group disbanded in 1982.
Despite the Eurovision 2024 event taking place in Malmö, Sweden, the famed quartet opted not to reunite for a performance.
Ulvaeus was also married to Lena Kallersjö from 1981 until their divorce in 2022.
