Tragedy struck as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Gogi, who represented the Ludhiana West constituency, was pronounced dead following a shooting incident that occurred shortly after midnight.
Authorities reported that Gogi succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at DMC hospital. “The incident took place around midnight, and he was declared dead upon arrival,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja.
Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Gogi, who joined the Aam Aadmi Party during the 2022 Ludhiana Assembly elections, notably defeated two-time former Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu.
