Black Belt Eagle Scout is seeking financial support for medical treatment after experiencing nervous system symptoms that may indicate relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Katherine Paul, the creative force behind the project, has canceled all her upcoming performances following the advice of her neurologist. In a recent social media update, she highlighted a fundraising campaign aimed at covering “living, medical, and other expenses” during this challenging time. The campaign has a goal of $75,000.
In her social media communication, Paul shared:
The fundraiser emphasizes that, following a “debilitating and frightening medical emergency,” MRI tests have led to this potential diagnosis. Paul is now receiving care from a respected neurologist at a prominent multiple sclerosis center in Seattle, where she will continue testing and treatment. Under her neurologist’s guidance, she has been advised to prioritize rest and focus on recovery.
Black Belt Eagle Scout recently released her latest album, The Land, the Water, the Sky, in early 2023 and was set to embark on a worldwide tour, including support for Sleater-Kinney. The canceled performances also include a highly anticipated show scheduled for this Saturday at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.
