Actor Pakorn “Boy” Chatborirak has officially terminated his contract with The iCon Group, a direct sales company facing serious allegations of fraud. Speaking to reporters, he described himself as a victim among many affected by the company’s questionable practices.
During a visit to the Consumer Protection Police Division in Bangkok, Pakorn was joined by 40 other individuals who collectively filed complaints against the company responsible for misusing his image in their promotions.
Pakorn asserted that The iCon Group utilized his likeness without his consent to lure potential investors into their scheme. He expressed his readiness to return any earnings acquired through his association with the company.
Many of those impacted reached out to him for guidance on how to navigate the complaint process, prompting him to accompany them on this important day. He voiced solidarity with the others who suffered financial loss.
The actor criticized the company for misleading him and withholding critical information about their operations.
Pakorn stated that he is fully prepared to cooperate with law enforcement and clarify any misconceptions regarding his involvement.
This development follows a similar distancing action taken by fellow actor Kan Kantathavorn, who also aimed to separate himself from the company amidst the ongoing investigations.
Authorities have reported interviewing 635 victims in relation to The iCon Group, with total losses amounting to 232 million baht.
Warathaphon Waratyaworrakul, the 41-year-old chief executive of The iCon Group, expressed his regret upon learning about the financial hardships experienced by investors in the company’s direct sales operations.
