Video footage captures the devastating fire that engulfed the historic San Francisco Church in Iquique, Chile. Emergency services dispatched twelve firefighting units on Friday to combat the intense blaze, but despite their efforts, the predominantly wooden structure was lost to the flames.
Recognized as the first Catholic church established in Chile, San Francisco Church held significant cultural value and was designated a national monument in 1994, according to reports from heritage organizations. Thankfully, local authorities confirmed that there were no casualties as they continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
