Telangana’s task force teams, under the Commissioner’s directive, conducted an inspection at the Sri Sri Holistic Hospital canteen in Kukatpally on October 8, revealing multiple hygiene violations that raise serious health concerns. This inspection was initiated following a complaint regarding the canteen’s sanitation practices.
Inspectors discovered expired food items, including various spices and ingredients, which were immediately removed from the premises. In addition, signs of a rat infestation were alarming, as rat droppings were found on shelves, and live cockroaches were observed in the storeroom, reflecting inadequate pest control measures.
The canteen’s management was unable to provide essential documentation, including valid pest control and medical fitness certificates, both of which are legally required for food business operators. The kitchen area showed signs of neglect, with unsanitary conditions highlighted by plaster debris falling from the ceiling. Furthermore, the absence of a displayed Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence was noted, a clear violation of regulatory requirements.
