Mm..Food, the iconic 2004 album by the legendary MF Doom, is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a special reissue on November 15. This commemorative edition, released through Rhymesayers Entertainment, features the original tracklist alongside rare remixes from renowned artists. Fans can look forward to new remixes by Madlib, Jake One, and Atmosphere’s Ant, in addition to previously unreleased interview clips with the late rapper.
The 20th-anniversary reissue of Mm..Food is accompanied by fresh artwork from Sam Rodriguez. The deluxe vinyl edition will also offer a bonus 7″ picture disc that includes the elusive original version of “Kookies” and a remix by Just Blaze. Furthermore, the limited-edition reissue of the out-of-print “Hoe Cakes” 12″ vinyl will come with its original artwork. To commemorate the release, exclusive merchandise, including an MF Doom action figure and a cereal bowl set, will also be available.
MF Doom, born Dumile Daniel Thompson in the United Kingdom, passed away on October 31, 2020, due to complications from a blood pressure medication. He was 49 years old. His widow revealed that he faced a rare condition known as angioedema, which caused serious breathing difficulties. The rapper’s unexpected death prompted heartfelt tributes from fellow artists, including Tyler, the Creator, Flying Lotus, El-P, and his longtime collaborator Madlib. Posthumous releases in his honor have included the album Super What? and various remixes featuring his contributions.
