Apple’s September event has unveiled exciting new products, including the iPhone 16, new AirPods, and the Apple Watch 10. However, an anticipated M4 Mac or MacBook has not yet been presented, but that may soon change.
Recent leaks suggest that a new Mac Mini is on the horizon, hinting at a significant redesign.
The New Mac Mini M4 is Coming Soon
The recent launch of macOS Sequoia appears to have inadvertently confirmed the arrival of the Mac Mini M4.
Noteworthy findings in the latest code from Apple reference “Apple silicon Mac mini (5 Port).” This discovery supports previous reports indicating that a new Mac Mini, powered by the M4 chipset, is in the works and will feature a redesigned form factor.
Sources indicate that the new Mac Mini will be comparable in size to the Apple TV set-top box, marking the first design overhaul since 2010. To achieve a more compact design, it is reported that Apple will eliminate USB-A ports entirely, opting for 5 USB-C ports instead, aligning with the “5 Port” terminology seen in the code.
As this information stands as the closest indication of a new Mac Mini’s impending release, the potential for it to be showcased at an upcoming Apple event in October or November is strong. This could coincide with the expected launch of the new line of M4 Macs in 2024.
