The popular kart racing game has just announced an exciting update that will thrill fans of Disney content. Gameloft has confirmed that Maleficent will make her debut in “Disney Speedstorm” during a Limited-Time Event in Season 9, Part 2. Players can look forward to a sneak peek at the trailer showcasing the iconic character.
As a Trickster racer, Maleficent specializes in disrupting other competitors and comes equipped with an impressive speed boost ability. Her unique skill, named “Mistress of Evil,” allows her to call down lightning along the track to hinder her rivals. Accumulating successful hits will charge her ability, ultimately enabling her to transform into her dragon form, which will automatically soar through the track at an increased speed, eliminating any racers in her path.
The details surrounding her Limited-Time Event have yet to be fully unveiled. However, these events typically last around a week, requiring players to complete a series of objectives using their already unlocked racers to obtain the new character. Maleficent will be the highlight unlockable character during this segment, following the introduction of Cruella in the previous update.
“Disney Speedstorm” is currently progressing through Season 9, Part 2, which is themed around Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean.” In addition to existing characters like Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann, the season will introduce a new Pirates-themed track alongside four new characters: Davy Jones, Will Turner, Hector Barbossa, and Tia Dalma.
